Happy 42nd Birthday Singapore!
posted in Announcement |Hey Folks,
Today Singapore celebrates it’s 42nd year of independence. I would like to take this opportunity to say “Happy 42nd Birthday Singapore”!

I would also like to share with you a favorite song that describes our love for a place we call home. The English version of the song is written by local artiste Dick Lee and the title is “Home”.
English Version:
Chinese Version:
And a little joke I got today in our sms:
“I, a citizen of SIN, pledge myself to strike on Mon, Wed, Thu, Sat and Sun, regardless of TOTO, 4D or Big Sweep. To buy, hope and earn extra money, based on Quick Pick, System 7-12 and Big Sweep tickets with 4D bonus, so as to achieve Cash, Car, Condo & Country Club for myself!”
This little joke is a humorous rewrite of our national pledge every citizen memorize since our childhood but it reflects every persons wish when they queue up at the local lottery joint and buy a hope
The actual pledge goes like this:
Our Pledge
“We, the citizens of Singapore,
pledge ourselves as one united people,
regardless of race, language or religion,
to build a democratic society
based on justice and equality
so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and
progress for our nation.”
Jokes aside, I have great love for my country and great respect for the man who wrote our pledge. In very little words, he described the ideals of a country we have come to be despite whatever the armchair critics around may have to say. We are at our hearts, A Singaporean!
The origins of the pledge can be found here. And if you are interested to watch the webcast of our celebration, it can be found here.
Love,
James
