Do You Care About Your Readers? - Food For Thought

posted in Law of Attraction, Stephen Pierce, Practical Tips, Blogging, Delivering Values, Food For Thought, Caring, Developing Character |

Hey Folks,

As you may know, I am currently in Kuala Lumpur attending Stephen Pierce’s Leadership course and helping out with his Internet Marketing Seminar subsequently.

What Am I Doing In KL
He has been my mentor in Internet Marketing for the past 6 months (if you had read my “About Us” page, you will know :P ) and I have much to thank him for my success at getting this blog up, running and progressed as it had.

So one of my objective to travel here at my own expense is to reciprocate what I have gotten from him and to help other marketers succeed in their online endeavor. My way of saying “Thank You”.

What I Learned
Now, back to my topic today. What I am going to share here is a small part of what I learn from Stephen yesterday but it got me thinking the whole night. Although the context he was referring the topic to was more about leadership, I can’t help but link it back to blogging. The subject that I would like you to think about today is “Caring”.

Ask Yourself These Questions:

“Do You Care About Your Readers?”

“Have Your Actions Shown That You Care About Your Readers?”

“Have You Been Replying Your Readers Comments? Paying Them A Visit?”

“Have You Been Posting Articles Of Value To Them?”

“Have You Been Engaging In Too Much Marketing Activities At The Expense Of Your Readers?”

Why Is It Important
So why am I asking all these question? Because if you don’t care about your readers, no one would be hanging around long enough to care for you, trust you and become your reader.

Think about it. Share with me if you Care or Not. And Why? :)

Cheers
James

    Karen,

You’re so right. All too often I notice that marketing takes precedence. I personally have asked questions, requested help and given input only to feel “lost in cyberspace”. I too feel it’s important to respond to your readers and value their input. It seems only natural that you would give back to your readers the passion that you should be experiencing about your subject/work.

I agree completely! This is time-tested advice that works. Care about your customers (readers) and the rest will fall into place. This is an excellent post that should be taken to heart.

it is a challenge to spend time visiting all the people who have visited your blog and responding to their posts but it’s something that every blogger must be responsible enough to do…getting responses from a reader always makes my day, im sure it feels the same for others! great reminder, Karen=)

    Hi James,

You’re absolutely correct. Our readers have to be cared for
because they’re the very reason why we write.

    Thanks…

Well said James and a great reminder!
Yes, I do care about my readers as I feel they care about me. As a network evangelist I’ve found that blogging is a givers gain. The more you give, the more you get. From posing about Norway, our culture, traditions and habits, I’ve got so many friends a great comments from all over the world. From that I’ve learned a lot about myself and my country as well as others by visiting them. So for sure: Blogging connecting people!

Agree James. We must take care of our readers. After all blog is a small community and interaction is a must!

I wrote about this in my blog, Anatomy of a healthy blog: mini community with interaction :)

UYMG was a disappointing event. It was just an over-rated, over-priced and under-delivered repeat of World Internet Summit event minus the laptop. Laptops weren’t even used to its fullest capacity. It was only used for taking down notes. Internet connection sucks. Speakers were just average. Nobody even got a standing ovation. I felt ripped off.

    Hey Joy,

I did saw 2-3 standing ovation, where you there the whole time at all?

You have expressed your disappointments but nothing to support it. Why is it under-delivered and why was the speakers average? Why was it over-priced? How much did you pay for it?

I guess you need to produce more facts to support your claims. If there was any serious misrepresentation, you voice it and I might just let Stephen know about it. :)

    Cheers
    James
