Practicing Success - Why Law Of Attraction Does Not Work

It’s a story that many of you will relate too. It’s a story that at some point I made contact with “The Secret” and “The Law of Attraction“. And like many of you, I put it into practice and say “why is it not working for me?” It was like “What’s wrong with this thing? What am I missing? Did I do anything wrong? Why couldn’t I attract what I wanted?”. It was like building a 2000 piece puzzle with 1999 piece, something was missing! For those who got it working, Congratulations! For those who didn’t, read on!
I was a software engineer by training, I worked in a multi-national software company for 8 years before I decided that enough was enough. I was not a happy man, even though I earn pretty ok, had a lovely wife, beautiful daughter, just bought a new house, etc. I was not happy because I feel that work was tough, my customers were unreasonable and I could not change anything of that unless I quit my job. Sounds familiar? You bet!
Hmmm, so I thought I was unhappy because I could not control the elements that made me unhappy. So, what do I do? Get your own business, that’s what I would do! That was sometime in Sept 2004. I worked my business typically like every other newbie businessman, went for some motivational courses, set goals and targets, visualized your success and get on with business. So did it work out? Well, if it did, it wouldn’t be an interesting story right? So, no it didn’t. I blame the timing, I blame my luck, I blame the market, I blame the customers and I decided to change to another business.
This time, I took on MLM. Same routine, went for some motivational courses, set goals and targets, visualized your success and get on with business. So did it work out? Nope it didn’t again! So here I went again, I blame the timing, I blame my luck, I blame the market, I blame the customers, I blame the MLM company and I decided to change to another business again.
Third try, I tried an apparel business. Same routine except no motivational courses, set goals and targets, visualized your success and get on with business. So did it work out? Nope it didn’t yet again! So here I went yet again, I blame the timing, I blame my luck, I blame the market, I blame the customers, I blame the factory, I blame the middleman and I decided to change to another business again. The only difference this time round is that I have a secret weapon with me. I have “THE SECRET” DVD. That was in Sept 06.
Armed with “THE SECRET” and “The Law of Attraction“, I set out to reconquer the MLM business I left behind in the 2nd attempt. This time round, I have industry knowledge, I know the process, the business, I know how to visualize success (or so I thought) so it would be a cakewalk …… It should work right? Unfortunately, NO! That’s fourth in a roll! I was like W*F (sorry, but thats the only expression that fits the bill), I could not believe it. I DO NOT WANT to believe it! And well, this time, I blame “THE SECRET” and I say The Law of Attraction Does Not Work!. Hmmm …… sounds familiar?
