9 Secret Steps To Life Transformation: Story 1 (Part 2)

posted in Success, Free Resources, Responsibility, 9 Secrets To Life Transformation |

Hey Folks,

Yesterday was a blast, the dream party we visualized for our little princess came true. She enjoyed it so much, played to hard that she fell asleep before dinner time. Part 2 of the celebrations had to be delayed slightly for her beauty nap. It is no miracle or magic that what we visualized for can come true, we simply employ the 9 secret steps we are talking about and we achieve whatever we want. And it starts from taking FULL responsibility (also call 100% responsibility) of yourself, your dreams and your actions and its’ consequences. So have you made up your mind to take back FULL responsibility?

If you have, share it in our comments page about it. My personal statistics has shown that if you publicly share you dreams/vision, you are more motivated to achieve it. It’s the same thing I practice by sharing that I will sharing the 9 secret step on my blog for you folks. After I share, I become even more motivated to complete it.

OK, now lets get on with todays story.

John (not his real name too) is also a real estate agent in similar situation as Alan (in fact working on the same project). He too get about 2-4 prospects from the same queue as Alan and he too is unhappy with the traffic. But he says to himself “How can I get more prospects to take a look at this fabulous piece of property?”.

So he take upon himself to research on likely buyers for such a property, factoring in it’s price, locality, the surrounding amenities, the unique selling points, etc. He formulates a couple of like group of buyers and their location. He then drafts up brochures, advertisement, gather mailing and contact list which ever is available (all this done while waiting for his turn to serve the next prospect at the showflat). During lunch time, he calls up the local classified ads, to place his advertisement in the local paper. Hits the printing shop to get the brochures done up. In the afternoon, he starts calling likely buyers from his newly drafted contact list to tell them about the opportunity and convince them to take a look.

After viewing hours, he heads off to the printing shop to collect the newly printed brochure and then straight to drop brochures into the mailing box of prospective buyers home (he drafted the location in the morning, remember?). After reaching home at 9pm, he starts calling prospective buyers again from his list until 11am. Next morning, he wakes up at 6am to organize the plan for the day such as which prospect would be going down to showflat, who to follow up again in the morning, which list to carry on calling, where else can he drop brochures. And the routine goes on.

He ends up getting an average of 10 prospects a day instead of 2-4. And remember, the other prospects that he brings in are highly targeted and more likely to buy a unit then the walk-in prospects. That was how he became the top selling real estate agent for the project. He did not blame anyone, yes he was unhappy with the traffic and he took upon himself to solve the issue.

Can you see the difference between John and Alan? Yes, some say that John is hardworking and yes he is but he has a vision/goal of getting his own traffic. He did not wait for it but work for it. He does not hope for changes in something he has no control of (the developer and the marketing agent) but he makes changes in his own activities (which he has control of) to get what he wants. That is the difference I would like you folks to take away with. Take back your full responsibility, control your life, control your destiny.

Next post, I will go on to Step 2. So stay tuned.

Love,
James

The problems are, not everyone is driven by money, I know some very happy people who just plod along in the slow lane. These are the ones who don’t suffer stress related illnesses. The trusters however find it difficult to calm down, even when out of work their minds are normally back in the office, this can cause marital problems.

I personally was always a thruster, eager to please, working on my own initiative. When I look back I would say it was worthwhile, however at times my hard working ethos was taken for granted. I guess it is hard to draw comparisons as my work was in a totally different domain to selling houses.

If I compare the 2 sellers the difference is one is self motivated and the other is not. However who is at fault, the individuals or their bosses. I always like to take work problems to the top and start there.

    Great blog

    Hey Pete,

Everyone has a right to choose. They can choose to be at the top, middle or bottom. No one can say they are wrong, it is their right :)

But I take it as very wrong when that same person complains that he does not have the chance to move up when his action shows no desire to move up. Now, that IS wrong.

Secondly, There are things we can change and there are things we cannot change. You cannot change your boss but you can change yourself. Focusing on trying to change your boss won’t do you any good, why not focus on changing yourself :)

James my commets are general ones.

I agree with most of what you are saying, there is a lot of demotivation in the workplace, however to tackle the subject you have to start at the top and work down.

    Hey Pete,

That would be a best case scenario where there is a top down motivation and changes. But where none exist, I prefer to coach individual employees to self help. :)

    James that makes sense,

Regarding coaches, who coaches the coach. In a world of continual development even coaches needs advice and training.

    Well Pete,

Actually, all of us learn from observations. Each and everyone has something to teach irregardless of whether you are a coach or not. So pay attention to your surrounding and people around you.

Also, there are always coaches who are more established that you can learn from. I know of many coaches who learns from Anthony Robbins. Also one may learn from their mutual partners either in life or in their coaching niche :)

    Cheers
