9 Secret Steps To Life Transformation: The Ladder Of Dreams

Hey Folks,

I trust that if you had read my last post, you would have found your true dream by now. Remember, you must be excited about your dream, it has induce the kind of energy that makes you talk non-stop and yet the listeners won’t ask you to shut up. If you have not found it yet, don’t worry, it’s there. You just need some time to discover it.

What I will be sharing to day is called The Ladder of Dreams. It is a tool I use to create a master plan to fulfill my dreams. So why do you need a master plan? Reason is real simple. There always exist a HUGE gap between your dream and where you are in reality. Over 95% of the people who set goals never achieve them because they give up half way, or more likely 10% of the way. So what does it happen that way? Why do people give up so easily?

From my experience, it is a combination of not taking full responsibility, not giving gratitude, poor goal setting and well, it is in the humans nature.

The first 3 factors I have mentioned before (click on the links to read more about them) and last item is what I want to talk about today. You see, humans are interactive beings. When we do something, we want to see results. If we don’t see any results, we give up. It’s that simple. Period.

Those 5% that persist to reach their goals are not only persistent but they are strategist who know how to manage their goals and feed their mind the results it expects. Hence they are able to propel themselves forward and move towards their Dreams. And this one tool that I am sharing with you today will enable you to do just that.

The Ladder of Dreams basically requires you to break your dream up into mini goals (actually baby steps) working from your dream back down till you reach a mini goal that is easily within your means to reach. Here is a example:

1) Jane wants to earn a million a year from the internet.
2) Jane wants to earn $500k a year from the internet from 10 best selling ebooks.
3) Jane wants to earn $250k a year from the internet from 5 best selling ebooks.
4) Jane wants to earn $100k a year from the internet from 2 best selling ebooks.
5) Jane wants to earn $5k a month from the internet from 1 very popular ebook.
6) Jane wants to earn $3k a month from the internet from advertisements, affiliate programs selling ebooks and giving free ebooks to create her subscriber base.
7) Jane wants to earn $1k a month from the internet from advertisements, affiliate programs selling ebooks while learning how to write a good ebook.
8) Jane wants to earn $500 a month from the internet from advertisements and affiliate programs.
9) Jane wants to earn $100 a month from the internet from advertisements and affiliate programs.
10) Jane wants to earn the first $1 from the internet from advertisements and affiliate programs.
11) Jane wants to get 100 unique visitors a day
12) Jane wants to get 50 unique visitors a day
13) Jane wants to get 10 unique visitors a day
14) Jane wants to put up her first money making site about ebooks.
15) Jane wants to learn about internet marketing.

As you can see in the example, Jane has created her master plan for achieving her dream and the first step is simple. Go out and find a course about internet marketing. Now is that a hard goal to achieve? Absolutely not!

Once you learn how to do internet marketing, is it that hard to put up your first site? Absolutely not!

If you have been taught correctly about internet marketing, is it that difficult to get 10 unique visitors a day? Absolutely not!

And as you can see, is it that difficult to progress towards your dream? Absolutely not! As you progress, you get more competent in the last goal and it takes considerably less effort to do it. Achieving your mini goals every step of the way further enhances the great feeling and creates more positive energy that will drive you on.

So how can you fail with such a plan in place? Absolutely not! Of course, unless you did not do Step 1 and Step 2 or your mini goals are again too impractical or the gap between mini goal is too great.

So what are you waiting for? Take out a pen or pencil and start drawing up your Ladder of Dreams.

Till the next post. Take Care and Stay Positive.

Love,
James

It’s funny as I was reading the steps you outlined I saw again how important it is to choose goals/dreams that you feel passionately about otherwise all that effort would just feel like work instead of making you more excited as you visualized each step. I think that is why I used to have such a hard time pushing through until my goals were realized. I was choosing goals I thought I should aspire towards rather than things that really and truly interested me.

Thanks for the link so that I found this post!

    Hey Jenny,

Passion allows a goal to pull you towards it instead of your pushing yourself forward. It is easier to be pulled then trying to push, so having a passion usually makes it easier :P

However, passion can be developed. Would you believed that I started out on self development with just an aspiration, nothing passionate about it?

    Cheers

James my problem is not having any specific dream, I am content with my life. Is this normal or should I be looking for something

    Well Pete,

If you are content with your current life. That’s GREAT! Be grateful of that.

You may want to think about where you want to be in 5 years time, 10 years time or 20 years time. Do you see yourself in the same position? Do you want to be elsewhere? Once you figure that out, you will know if you want to strive for something. :)

It may not be for yourself that you wish to achieve something for. It may be for your children. It may be for someone unrelated. I know of a close friend whose goal is to do something for charity and to benefit a great group of people who has no relation to him. So think about it.

    Cheers
    James
