9 Secret Steps To Life Transformation: The Unspoken Secret Of “The Secret” Movie

posted in The Secret, Self Improvement, Success, Self Motivation, Manifestation, Relationship, 9 Secrets To Life Transformation, Dream |

Hey Folks,

Today I am going to talk about “The Secret” Movie. Yap, the one by Rhonda Bryne and featuring Bob Proctor, John Assaraf, Joe Vitale to name a few. I bet most of you have seen it or at least heard about it. Never heard about it? Ok, you can check it out here.

Now, I have heard both good and bad comments about the movie. Those who love it say it’s inspiring! Those who hate it say you can’t just sit and dream about success and hope that it comes true! So do I hate it or love it? What would you think if I tell you that I agree with both the lovers and haters of “The Secret“! Surprise :D.

Actually, “The Secret” is a very well package product that sell the idea of positivity or what the show calls the “Law of Attraction”. It combines sound, vision and some cool effects to stir the viewers emotion and presents the idea that everything is possible. I know how it feels because thats how I felt after watching it. I actually felt that everything was almost possible. Did I say “Almost”?

Yap, “Almost”. Why? Because they left something unsaid. Something that is most critical! Something that was inferred but not said out loud.

What was left unsaid was you need to TAKE ACTION.

You see, it is natural human behavior that if we are really excited about something, we WILL take some action to get it. Period. “The Secret” movie focused on getting the viewers to the right level of excitement and (I believed they) intended to let the results come naturally (meaning you get so excited that you will do something about it). It should work, except that they probably did not expect that many viewers took their words literally (their critics especially).

Here’s a typical case:

Me: Don, have you seen the Secret?

Don: Yeah.

Me: What do you think of it?

Don: Inspiring but it doesn’t work for me.

Me: Oh, why didn’t it work for you?

Don: I don’t know. I just didn’t work.

Me: Mind telling me what you did and what didn’t work?

Don: Oh, I tried what they say in the movie, like visualize what I want. Did it for a couple of months but nothing really came out of it.

Me: What were you visualizing?

Don: Heh heh, finding a girlfriend *sheepy look*

Me: Ahem, ok. So who did you visualized.

Don: I’m not telling you.

Me: Ok, fine. But tell me, how did you feel visualizing whoever she was.

Don: Feel just like that.

Me: Ummm … like what?

Don: Just like that.

Me: Ummm …. did you even feel anything like excitement, passion, happiness, urge to rush out and find her. Anything?

Don: Err … maybe …

Me: Ok, so did you do anything after that? Like you know, go out looking for her. Join some dating program. Hang out at wherever those type of girls hang out, that sort of thing?

Don: Err … nope. I taught the movie say just visualized. They didn’t mentioned anything about doing anything. I thought the universe supposed to do the rest.

There you go folks, the universe is supposed to do the rest! I lost count of the number of times I heard this excuse. So I would like to share with you Step 6 of “9 Secret Steps To Life Transformation: Take Action

That’s the title of the next post where I will share what “Taking Action” is all about. So stay tuned!

James

Very nice post James. I have had so many similar experiences! A couple of days after watching The Secret my mom said something like, “That’s crazy. If I want to be skinny, that’s all I have to do. Think I’m skinny and I’ll be skinny.” I’m still trying to explain inspired action to her!

I read this analogy somewhere. Life is like a movie, and you are the star in this movie. It’s up to you to make your “role” an active, interesting one. :)

I feel the same way as Me in the dialogue. Following up is quite difficult, especially if you don’t know the next step. But then again, even I use “I thought…” as an excuse.

Lisa: I know your feeling, I guess we had a lot of similar experiences thats why we both had blogs sharing similar topic :)

Adria: Wow, nice analogy. Very fitting. I love the way you describe it.

Gabriel: I know the feeling, fortunately I had the ladder of dream as a guide but even then it still takes a bit of courage to move on to the next step.

Oh, before I forget, happy 4th of July for you US readers out there …. :)

I always think that if you treat your dreams as though they are already realities, they will come true. As I think today, so shall I be tomorrow!

    Hey Susie,

Thanks for dropping by, you have to take a look at the secret, it was an eye opener for me when I watch it for the first time. Today, it is still Karen’s Favorite. Is there a link to this “Alchemist” book? I would love to take a look :)

Hi, I’m a firm believer, through experience. The universe has given me exactly what I needed/wanted always throughout my life. Now I’ve figured it out, I can use that to my advantage. But I’m concerned that there is too much focus on wealth. OK, so you get the million, but you’re still miserable perhaps. What do you think?

    Hi Kaetie,

Thanks for your kind sharing and I am glad that Law of Attraction is working for you. :)

As for the focus on wealth, I firmly believed it was a matter of presentation. The concept of achieving wealth is easier to present on screen as compare to achieving spiritual wellness, for example. And usually, the wealth is not an end by itself but the means to an end.

As for the getting a million and being miserable? Well, thats why I advocate showing/giving gratitude in step 2 of my 9 secret steps of life transformation. If practiced LOA properly and gratitude is credited accordingly, I don’t see how there could be misery. :)

    What do you think?

    Love,
    James

Wow, a lot of good posts and your blog looks pro. Totally agree with you, a lot of people don’t have dreams, they don’t know where to head to. Many have dreams, but did not take the actions to get closer to their dreams.

It is good learn about NLP and motivational tips to help us get inspire in our daily life. This is especially helpful in achieving our dreams. Great post.

Yes I absolutely agree. The gratitude bit is key to the process. I have been saying thank you to the universe every day of my life, and all the tiny things in it. Yes, without this step there could be failure of a sort I suppose. Although failure is too simply a state of mind, and always turns out to be what you asked for/intended anyway (if you’re honest with yourself). I love that the Law Of Attraction is shortened to LOA! This is one spelling of the spiritual gods of Haiti. Did you know that? WOW!

    Hey Kaetie,

Yes, gratitude is one of the keys to success. I’m glad it has been working for you!

Cool, I didn’t know LOA is meanings other then a short form for Law of Attraction. :P

    Hugs,
    Karen
