Positive Articles Day - Volume 4

Hey Folks,

Positive ArticlesWelcome back to Volume 4 of Positive Articles :)

This week we are sharing more like 2 stories then 2 articles but both meaningful nonetheless and I hope you enjoy it :)

The first story is entitled “SALES 101 - LOVING THE PEOPLE” by Corinne Edwards over at Personal Growth with Corinne Edwards . In this story, Corrine talks about her son learning how to do sales and how a change in his mentality changed his results. That single change was to love his customers. What got me thinking was this: How does it apply to Self Development? Simple. If you don’t love yourself, you cannot improve. Think about it.

Corinne has a very colorful and interesting life (how often do you get a TV host to blog with us, check her “About Me” page to know more) and she shares experiences in writing books, self improvement, some sales tips and even poems. :)

The second story if entitled “The Power Of An Hour” by Shaun Boyd over at LifeReboot. In this story, Shaun shares his experience with what working an hour a day on something (consistently the same thing) could help you achieve or waste (depending on what you are doing). I find that so true, especially since I started blogging. Blogging isn’t about getting a ton of articles up in a week and hope that everyone will drop by and read your post. It’s about working consistently everyday. Maybe you have only 60 minutes, 30 minutes or even 15 minutes. Over a couple of months, it all adds up to be more then you could ever hope to achieve in a week. So if you have a goal, work on it consistently.

Shaun’s blog is full of articles sharing his experiences and perspective of events around him. His articles are easy to read and relates what he want to say in a story telling way. So take some time to scan through the post there, some of them are thought provoking :)

Cheers,
James

Positive Articles Day - Volume 3

Hey Folks,

Welcome back to Positive Articles Day. We are now at Volume 3 and today I will be sharing 2 different articles from 2 Blogs.

I literally stumbled across the first article while surfing at Stumbleupon.com last week. It is titled “18 Ways to Stay Focused at Work” by Dave Cheong over at davecheong.com. I don’t know Dave personally, I just found his articles interesting and valuable to share with you, my readers. He describes himself as “Software Engineer’s journey to Entrepreneurship”.

In this article, Dave shares 18 ways that could help you focus at work. Some of them are similar to what I have mentioned previously in my article “7 Tips To Improve Your Work Efficiency By More Than 100%“.

I find Dave’s articles to be well thought out and he goes straight to the point. He gives tips that are simple to understand and apply. I have some experience with most of the tips he mentioned in this article and I can safely say that they do work! Especially listening to the right type of music and remember to make your work fun. So take some time, head on over and read it. I promise you won’t regret it. :)

I found the second article in much the same way as the first, via Stumbleupon.com and it is titled “Fix the Problem, Don’t Just Put Up With It” by Beth over at MySimpleLife. Beth describes herself as a charter certified Family Manager Coach and you get read more about her here.

In this article, Beth explains that there are a kind of problem that we tend to put up with instead of solving them once and for all. She give a simple 5 steps process to deal with them. Again, 5 very simple steps that none of us should have problem following. Head on over and take a look, it’s a short article but I think you will find it very beneficial too.

I like this article as I have a similar problem of this nature too - I keep forgetting where I parked my car within my own condominium! It was the fact that it was nothing major and not a life threatening problem that I have never found any need to address it but occasionally, when I am in a hurry, it could make me very frustrated as I rush between different levels of my car park to locate my car. Do you have a similar kind of problem too?

Enjoy the articles and cya next week! :)

Love,
James

Positive Articles Day - Volume 2

Hey Folks,

Welcome to this weeks Positive Articles Day. Cheers, we made it to Volume 2!

The article that I would like to share with you folks today is called “26 Tips to Stay Calm When Situation Goes Bad“. In this article the author shares 26 tips to calm your nerves in face of a bad situation! Everyone knows that in the heat of the moment or in face of a bad situation, you may not be in the best position mentally to make a sound decision. So if you find yourself in such a situation, try one or more of the 26 methods the author mentioned and it may just do the trick for you.

Personally, I use a combination of the tips the author mentioned. I will usually take a deep breath and smile. Then I start focusing on the positive side of things and start hunting for solutions. Here’s my evaluation steps:

1) Can the situation be changed? If yes, change it! If not, go to step 2.
2) Can I do anything to change the situation? If yes, do it! If not, go to step 3.
3) Can I live with this situation? If yes, live with it. If not, ignore it and focus on the good things.

I hope this article and my little tips will benefit you smile :) (hey, smile more. it’s beneficial to your health) and, if ever, when you face a bad situation (I hope not)!

Now, a little about the author. This article was written by promising young Indonesian by the name of Donald Latumahina who runs a blog called “Life Optimizer” where he shares loads and loads of great tips to improve your life! I like the way he presents a huge list of tips that you could easily scan through.

Till next Tuesday. Stay Positive :)

Love,
James

Positive Articles Day - Volume 1

Hey Folks,

In yesterdays post, We mentioned that there will be a post every Tuesday where we will share good post from other bloggers. Our objective is to look for articles relating to positivity, tips or suggestions to help our daily life or in simple terms, anything that we feel would benefit you. We will also write a short blog intro about the blog where the article came from.

Today we have only one article to share but I love it, it is simple to apply and the benefits goes a long way and you don’t need to be a genius to figure that it will work. The post is called “Nine extremely simple and easy tips to take stress out of your day“. It outlines a basic principle that we could, and should, take care of little non urgent task in our life so that that it won’t become an urgent task at the worst possible moment. That is what causes unnecessary stress in our life!

The principle outline in it is, well, nothing new and we had probably heard out mum nag about doing this and that since our childhood days! But as we grow older and had more “important” tasks to accomplished daily, we forgot about this little habit that , if practice regularly, could seriously reduce a lot of stress!

Think about it, if we had done some of what Gretchen mentioned, such as “Put your keys away in the same place every day”, we would not be running around the house hunting down that pair of key when you are running late for work! I could think of hundreds of little non-urgent things that could get back at us at the worst possible moment, such as:

1) Check your household essentials so you won’t run out of Toilet paper!
2) Check your grocery stockpile so you won’t run out of milk, coffee or tea at the last moment.
3) Make it a habit to close the window when you get out of the house, even if it is for a short while, so you won’t worry about rain.
4) Always pay your bill when it arrives so you will never miss the dateline.
5) Get your office documents needed for morning meeting ready before leaving office on the previous day.
6) Type out your minutes of meeting the moment you leave the meeting; to list a few.

I hope this article and some of my little additions had benefited you. If you like it, leave a comment to let me know. So at least I know that I am heading in the right direction :P

Now, a little about the author. This article was written by a beautiful lady name Gretchen who runs a blog called “The Happiness Project” where she shares her experience to live in happiness! I love her weekly post on Wednesday where she share simple tips such as the one I just shared.

Till next Tuesday. Stay Positive :)

Love,
James

Blog Intros and More

Hey Folks,

Todays Monday and we are free and easy again. We will be return some loves that was showered our way in the past 3 weeks. They included mime games, tags and awards in Part 1 and some article loving in part 2.

Part 1
We don’t usually play tag games, so we were kind of hesitant when Aldian tagged us 3 weeks ago (sorry for the delay man). James was like “Geez, should I or should I not” and he actually had a draft post still in “draft”. Then came the 2nd Tag from Fion, then the 3rd from Rani and a 4th from eBestAgentCoach and so we thought we better do something! So here we are, returning some loves (nope, we won’t be continuing the game, just didn’t feel right) but we’ll give a blog intro (it’s too short to be a review of any kind, just a blog intro) to all of you, our readers, about these friends of mine.

1) Aldian Prakoso over at Bright Beginning!
Aldian is a full time Internet entrepreneur living in Jakarta, Indonesia. In this blog, he shares methods and ways to promote your online business, particular through the use of blogs. So if you have any desire to attract more attention and readers to your blog, drop by his blog (no surprise here) to take a look.

2) Fion Lim over at scrapbooking-ideas-and-tips.com
Fion is from sunny Singapore and she shares her love about scapbooking on her blog. We never realized that there were so much to do about scapbooking until we saw here blog. Hmmmm …. anyone interested in Digital Scapbooking?

3) Rani over at Flower Girl’s Rural India
Rani gave me a Schmooze Award over at her other blog “Under The Sun” but we thought we would give her other blog “Flower Girl’s Rural India” some coverage as it was more interesting to us. In this blog, she talks about everything in and about India from events to customs to place that I could not pronounce! And every single post is covered with a generous dose of pictures. Go on and enjoy the glory of India!

4) eBestAgent over at eBestAgent
eBestAgent is a licensed Real Estate Broker from Southern California and he shares his knowledge and experience working the the Real Estate Industry over at his blog. So for you folks wanting to get a hot property in California, you know who to look for. :)

Part 2
Last Friday James wrote an article titled “10 Things That Only You Can Take Responsibility For” and was syndicated by 2 well respected bloggers, Aaron Potts of Today Is That Day and RT Cunningham of Untwisted Vortex. That got him thinking about syndicating good post from fellow bloggers right here at our own blog!

We did a “Positive Articles” post sometime about about getting rid of procrastination so we thought we would like to do it on a regular basis. So here it is, from today onwards, Tuesday will be a Positive Articles Day! There are so many good articles out there and so many friends to make, we could wait to get started. Hurray!

Love & Hugs,
James & Karen
